Parents/Guardians and Students should visit the SAT website ( www.collegeboard.com ) or the TOEFL website for High School Students who;s first language is not English ( www.ets.org/toefl ) and again thoroughly familiarise themselves with the terminology and what is expected of them before registering their child.

There are practice questions and test papers on the websites to assist students prior to taking the test. Your Son/Daughter will need to take the formal SAT or TOEFL as the results will allow the U.S. Colleges/Universities and athletic departments to gauge the Student's level of local education against the American standards.

  • High School Students requiring to take the SAT and should register at www.collegeboard.com 
     
  • SAT scores must be sent directly to the eligibility centre by the testing agency - reporting NCAA - code 9999 and NAIA - 9876. You are advised to call the test centre as soon as you have booked your test date(s) and inform them you will require the SAT scores sent directly to the NCAA and NAIA. You should also remind them on the day of the test. 
  • U.S. College/University intake 2013, the College Board advises the best time to take the SAT is during the Autumn of the U.K. Students second from last year (Junior) of their current High/Grammar/Secondary School. And a second SAT during the Spring of their final year (Senior) at High/Grammar/Secondary School. If the student feels ready before these guidelines then he/she should take the test.
  • TOEFL - Is a test for High School Students who's first language is not English. The TOEFL test measures a High School students ability to use and understand English at College/University level. It also evaluates how well the students combine listening, reading, speaking and writing skills to perform academic tasks.

    There are two formats for the TOEFL test. The format you take depends on thelocationof your test centre. Most test takers take theTOEFL iBT test. Test centres that do not have Internet access offer thePaper-based Test (PBT).
